Marcus started his PR and communications consultancy over ten years ago supporting commercial and charity clients.
Marcus’s approach is quite different from other advisors. Marcus hasn’t always worked in PR – he originally trained and worked as a lawyer, but having an interest in communications and marketing led him to a career change and he re-qualified and started working in PR, initially advising law and accountancy firms on their communications strategies.
Marcus realised when he started his consultancy that not every organisation can afford, or would even want to have, a full-time communications team. This means that he is often instructed to provide a customised and cost-efficient ‘in-house’ service for his clients.

Clients with existing communications teams find Marcus’s contacts in the media, his ideas and many years’ experience from working in different sectors and with a diverse range of organisations a great help. Marcus is an additional resource that brings extra value to the team. On occasions he has been asked by clients to help them with the recruitment of new communications directors and managers.
In essence he provides a full communications service. This can be setting up or refreshing a communications strategy to complement marketing or fundraising plans; handling all media relations activities; issues management work; writing content for marketing campaigns; preparing communications plans for an organisational change, and if necessary handling crises.
When you work with Marcus you are guaranteed his full experience and attention, as the work is not passed on to someone else who doesn’t possess his first-hand knowledge of your business or have the benefit of his experience. On the rare occasion that Marcus is away from the office a senior colleague will expertly handle your requirements in consultation with Marcus so that there is no interruption to your services.
